MLD is More Than Gentle Touch.
It’s Skilled, Clinical Work.
While many diploma and uni-level courses introduce MLD, it’s important to understand that these introductory sessions are just the beginning.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a clinical technique that goes far beyond moving fluid or applying light pressure. It requires in-depth understanding of lymphatic anatomy, pathology, contraindications, and the ability to tailor treatment safely — especially for complex or vulnerable clients.
Think of it like driving: just because you can steer around the paddock doesn’t mean you’re ready for the highway. Similarly, delivering MLD in clinical settings demands proper training, experience, and time. There are no shortcuts when it comes to safe and effective care.
Let’s keep our standards high and our clients safe. If you’re passionate about working with lymphatic health — invest in the education that empowers you to do it right.

Mastering Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy: Beyond the Basics
Decongestive lymphatic therapy is a therapeutic protocol comprising 5 components of treatment which include:
- Compression therapy (bandaging / garments)
- Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
- Skin care (and precautions)
- Exercise
- Home program including modifications of activities of daily living that are integral to each other for the best outcome for those with decongestive conditions.
The comprehensive training program empowers you to enhance your therapeutic abilities, offering a deep understanding of the lymphatic system. By learning Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy (DLT) within a broader healthcare context, you’ll be prepared to address diverse client needs, including those affected by lymphatic system issues due to surgery, radiation therapy, trauma, or common ailments like sinusitis and immobility.
What sets this course apart is its focus on the “why” behind your clients’ swelling. You’ll develop critical thinking skills, the ability to ask pertinent questions, and an investigative approach to pinpoint the root causes of oedema. Not only will you master manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) techniques, but you’ll also learn to distinguish between oedema, lymphoedema, and lipoedema.
The practical workshop allows you to gain hands-on experience, refining your tactile understanding of MLD. You’ll learn the nuances of skin texture and precise pressure application, which are best comprehended through in-person training.
Furthermore, we delve into the world of compression bandaging, covering traditional short stretch bandages, alternative solutions like the Mobiderm system and two-layer systems, as well as innovative options like Fast n Go for self-bandaging. This knowledge ensures you can cater to the unique needs of all your clients, regardless of their location.
Join us to expand your therapeutic horizons, becoming an expert in decongestive lymphatic therapy and offering personalised, evidence-based care for those in need.
Please note:
This training goes beyond basic concepts, offering an immersive experience with small class sizes of 6-8 participants. In larger classes, addressing queries can be challenging, and one-on-one interaction is limited. In contrast, our intimate setting provides ample time to gain the skills and confidence needed for safe and effective Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy. You’ll feel empowered to assist clients with lymphatic system-related conditions. For a personalized touch, private classes are also an option, ensuring your learning needs are met. Join us for an in-depth, personalized approach to mastering Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy.
Not ready to take on bandaging and garments just yet (or ever)!
If you’re looking to expand your knowledge of manual lymphatic drainage without delving into bandaging and compression garments just yet, the Clinical Manual Lymphatic Drainage Course is ideal. Here, you’ll gain in-depth insights into working with clients from diverse backgrounds, each with unique lymphatic conditions.
This course equips you to safely and effectively administer advanced manual lymphatic therapy to a range of clients, including those on a cancer journey after lymph node removal and radiation, individuals with complex comorbidities, and those with traumatic injuries. You’ll understand your scope of practice, recognizing when clients may need compression therapy and how to refer them appropriately.
Should you choose to explore compression therapy further, a separate option is available, tailored to your schedule. Your journey to becoming a skilled lymphatic therapy practitioner starts here.
